History: Jordan Stryke was the brother of Leopold Stryke who had been the original criminal known as The Eel. In an effort to distance himself from the reputation his brother had earned as a criminal, Jordan Stryke legally changed his name to Jordon Dixon. Jordon got into advertising and eventually worked with another man named Quentin Harderman, where they became partners. He initially began his advertising doing campaigns for children’s toys and other products, and soon began to realize while he was making tremendous amounts of money for his clients, he himself, was not gaining any riches for his efforts. He soon began to feel as if through this marketing he was perpetuating lies through his advertisements – but this didn’t bother him. As a matter of fact, he began to take great pleasure in being able to convince someone of something’s value, knowing what he was selling was completely worthless.

Over the years, bot Dixon and his partner, Harderman, got involved in corrupt activities, but Dixon worked on his advertising, while working on the idea that he would, after all, follow in the steps of his brother and don a costume and become a criminal. He crafted a number of venom weapons and adopted the identity of The Viper, and joined the criminal mastermind Cowled Commander, whom Dixon’s brother, the Eel, had also worked with. His first mission for the Cowled Commander would bring him into contact with Captain America and Falcon, who would ultimately defeat him and send him to prison.

It was there that his life would take another change – the criminal known as Cobra freed both him and his brother, where they joined Cobra’s newly organized team called the Serpent Squad. Dixon contacted his former partner, Harderman, and asked him to begin a smear campaign against Captain America. Harderman, who by now, had joined the organization known as the Secret Empire, released a campaign. Captain America would once again come into conflict with Viper and send him to prison, yet again. Captain America then turned his attention towards the smear campaign and tracked down Harderman and exposed him and the plot of the smear campaign as a part of the Secret Empire’s agenda.

Here, the Viper’s life takes a dark turn. While being transported from Virginia to Washington, to testify against Harderman, the transport vehicles was attacked. It was none other than Madame Hydra, who killed the marshals then told Dixon that she had planned to wage war against society under the name of “Viper.” Realizing that she had intended to kill him and take his name, he pleaded with her that if he was ever released he’d use another moniker – however, she did not care, and shot and killed Dixon.

Dixon’s soul was transferred to Mephisto’s Realm. It’s unclear how it happened, but Dixon reappeared some time later, alive – however, devoid of his soul – he was brutal and ruthless and lacked any form of moral compass. He took over Serpent Society and rebranded it as “Serpent Solutions” and adopted the name Pit Viper. Serpent Solutions became a dubious company brand, with dealings that involved the likes of Hydra and A.I.M. The business was short lived when Sam Wilson, the Falcon, now under the new moniker of Captain America, put an end to it after they had made an attempt on his life.

Pit Viper regathered the Serpent Society, and tried to gather up relics to awaken Mephisto, who they believed to be the Great Red Serpent, but the AVENEGE.R.S. put an end to his plans and defeated him and his newly formed Serpent Solutions.
