The issue opens with Rich Rider, better known as the New Warriors member, Nova is headed for Earth. He gets a call from the Nova Corps, asking him to immediately return back to the situation; but Rich explains that his brother has gotten involved in some things with the Raptors that he needs to take care of, but the Nova Corp do not care to hear about it. Nova then turns off his headset and comes up to a scene where a giant, robotic like version of Darkhawk has just finished cutting through the ship of the Raptors!

Dark Starhawk flies out and attacks Darkhawk. Nova flies in and pulls Robbie from the energy form of the Dark Starhawk; but Robbie immediately blasts Nova and sends him flying back. Darkhawk grabs him and puts him in one of his chest compartments, since he’s currently the size of a giant robot. Not wanting to be held back – and not liking that Darkhawk is insisting that Robbie is gone and that they must destroy the Dark Starhawk, Nova rips an opening through Darkhawk and flies out.

Gyre and the rest of the Raptors attack, and Gyre manages to get the drop on Darkhawk. Nova tries to fly in and save Darkhawk, but is blasted away by Gyre. Gyre goes on about how he will kill humanity, he will kill Chris Powell, he will kill Richard Rider, and he will kill the hawk version of Razor. Robbie, as Dark Starhawk incinerates Gyre and explains that Gyre was wrong; and just when it seems as if Robbie is coming to his senses, he goes on to explain that he has newfound Cosmic Awareness and explains that Gyre was still right – the cosmos do need to be cleansed; but Gyre’s mistake was believing that Gyre was the one to do it, when it’s a job that falls on the Dark Starhawk instead.

Rich tries to explain that this isn’t Robbie talking, but Darkhawk assures Rich that Robbie made this choice willingly; the person they see before them is not someone who was brainwashed, but someone who embraced this change. At that moment, Death’s Head warns Darkhawk to get cover – and crashes a ship down that causes a massive explosion. Both Nova and Darkhawk are protected in time, but the resulting explosion seems to eliminate all of the Raptors. Only Robbie seems to have survived, and Darkhawk flies up and rips out the amulet, but Robbie swears it’s not the last they will see of him, and suddenly he blinks away. Nova warns Darkhawk to go back to Earth, and if he ever sees him in space again, he will beat him down and throw him in the darkest cell in the furthest reaches of space so no one will ever find him again.

Chris returns to Earth and considers taking that job with Code: Blue, and tells Miranda that she was right, that he was in over his head, but will not be going back out to space anytime soon. Just as he drifts to sleep, he’s suddenly approached by… Sleepwalker!
