The issue begins with Cloak and Dagger teleporting aboard the Santa Angela; the ship responsible for the recent import of illicit drugs. Cloak is strained by the distance in which he had to teleport, so Dagger uses some of her light to “feed” his darkness. A crew member who had just finished throwing slop overboard to the sharks following the ship notices the light.

The man goes to investigate and is confronted by Cloak who pulls him into the shadows of his robe; and he’s confronted by his worse fear – which is the ship sinking and the very sharks he had been feeding, tearing into him and his fellow crew men in a sea of crimson blood. Dagger pulls him out and they demand to get information about the ship and the shipment of heroine; but he refuses claiming no one has ever made him feel fear like Cloak has. He strikes Dagger and sends her falling backwards, down a flight of stairs and into the cargo. Cloak lunges at him, but the man steps back and falls over the railing – into the shark infested waters that now feed on him; just as he had feared.

By the time Cloak makes his way down the stairs, someone has found Dagger and picked her up and carried her away.

At the Holy Ghost Church, Father Francis has called on other priests and explains how he would like to do an exorcism to free Cloak from the darkness that binds him; and in the process, free Dagger from Cloak. However, the other priests are reluctant to believe that demons are involved, and say that they require proof of demonic possession.

Not far away, a thief who has snatched a purse from a woman runs into an alley and finds himself confronted by Mayhem (formerly Detective O’Reilly) – who demands that the man confesses his crime – which include robbery, rape and murder. Mayham cuts his face and the man collapses, paralyzed. The police arrive, puzzled, and arrest the man.

Back on the ship, a stowaway named Bill Clayton introduces himself to Dagger, having found her unconscious. Cloak finds them and Dagger feeds Cloak’s hunger for light. Bill also reveals that all the crates are full of computer technology; which the ship owners then sell to Russia. Russia uses it to make computerized weapons. The weapons are sold to the terrorists. The terrorists buy the weapons with the drugs they produce; and thus, the vicious circle is born. Cloak and Dagger follow the money and discover several corrupt Customs Agents. A fire fight breaks out and eventually the Santa Angela catches fire; Dagger fills the members with light, and they all abandon ship, while Cloak, Dagger, and their new friend, Bill, teleport to France.
