Darkhawk #4 (2021)

Spider-Man (Miles Morales) takes Darkhawk to a nearby roof to help him recover; and Connor reverts to his human form, revealing his true identity to Miles Morales – and surprisingly, Darkhawk’s severed hand is restored when Connor takes human form. Connor also explains that when he changes into Darkhawk, he gets a little shorter than his normal height.

Miles Morales, still in his Spider-Man costume takes Connor to The Coffee Shop where he orders from the waitress, Sandy – requesting two coffees, a rhubarb pie, and two Danishes. As Connor tries to drink the coffee he loses control of his hand briefly and drops the coffee, confessing to Miles that he has Multiple Sclerosis. Connor, having lost Derek, also talks to Miles about how Derek, his best friend, was involved in some things – and as a result, was murdered by someone named “Mr. Colt” – and how he’d gone after “Mr. Colt” as Darkhawk – but Mr. Colt has some mercenaries who had been technologically modified. Miles picks up his cell phone and begins texting as Connor continues to speak to him. Connor is shocked, when a moment later, Captain America arrives and Miles explains that he’d been texting Captain Ameirca; who had previously helped Miles become the hero that he is now.

During a run across the rooftops, Captain America reveals that Colt was an “instructor” for Hydra who took pride in his students maximizing their skills – by any means necessary – and that Winter Soldier himself had run into Colt – and thought him now dead. Captain America goes on to explain that Colt has a special ops background and had just recently come back onto the radar of Captain America because he’d learned that Colt was now working for A.I.M. – working on what they called Project Deathlok.

The trio bust up an A.I.M. warehouse, where they release one of their human-technological experiments; but the armor is eviscerated and reduced to powerless when Darkhawk unleashes his chest beam on it.

The last page concludes with Shawn being technologically modified by Colt.
