The issue begins with the news reporting that several members of Serpent Society have locked themselves inside a warehouse with hostages, for fear of who out there may or may not be Skrulls.
While the news is interviewing the FBI, something flies by them at incredible speed.
Moving at hypersonic speed, the Nova Corps arrive to fix the hostage situation.
The first to act is Shi’ar born, Malik Tarcel. A quiet, born leader who uses a heat pulse to vaporize the window pain and melt the glass before it even gets a few feet from him, so that it does not injure any hostages that may be near him.
Within seconds, he’s taken care of Black Mamba and moved out of there. Next coming in is Irani Rael, a Rigellian; who like the rest of her race, are perhaps one of the most intelligent species in existence, but completely devoid of any form of personality. She effectively removes Sidewinder from the picture.
Next is Qubit, a synthorganic being from a species called The Manufactured Harmonites. He is little more than just a flying Nova Corp helmet who manages to take care of Fer-De-Lance.
Fraktur is next, who appears to be a hulk sized female humanoid lizard with wings. She is apparently of the same species as Fing Fang Foom, and one could almost feel sorry for Death Adder, as she takes care of him.
Morrow is next, a Mephistoid, a male version of the feline like species which Hepzibah, of the Starjammers, hails from. With a beam that inverts gravity, he rapidly takes care of Anaconda.
Copperhead is the last of the Serpent Society members, and Nova takes him out with a simple punch.
Situation over. Hostage casualties, zero. Time elapsed, one point eight six seconds.
The news goes on to praise how wonderful the Nova Corps are, and we see Rich’s family watching the news; as well as Justice; and Robbie, at Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S.
The Nova Corps arrive at Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. as Robbie is discussing with Darkhawk how he just spoke to his parents, who had inquired how Richard was after the Skrull invasion, but had not asked how he was.
Nova excuses himself to go speak with WorldMind who now runs most of the systems within Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. WorldMind explains that Quasar has not materialized again since he last exerted all that energy to save them from the Skrulls.
Worldmind explains to Nova that he had pulled together the current Nova Corps before Galactus had damaged his systems. Nova explains that the current team is fine, however, Worldmind should not recruit others until they have had a chance to discuss it, since the last time Worldmind deputized someone, it cost them their life in the end.
Nova asks if they’re going to download WorldMind back into Richard’s helm, and Worldmind explains that they are not – and that the Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. facilities are ideal for allowing him to work as needed without being put in danger. Worldmind also explains that it’s for the best, for Richard as well, since it would have eventually cost Richard his sanity.
Before the discussion could continue, Robbie comes in and informs the Nova Corps that Taboo, the thing from the Murky Swamp has risen once again from below New York City. They put down Taboo and arrive back at Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. – only to find Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. full of Nova Corps, and Robbie is one of them!
