History: Cleopatra Nefertiti earned a reputation as an exotic dancer because of her sensual movements which seemed to enthrall and charm both human and snake alike. Her ability to generate blasts of energy that caused paralysis had fit the motif of a serpent’s venom and had been exactly what Sidewinder was looking for as he was forming his newest idea, the Serpent Society.

As Serpent Society went forward, they advertised themselves as the most lethal assassins for hire – and their first job, from A.I.M. was to find and murder M.O.D.O.K. Serpent Society accepted the job and successfully, not only tracked down M.O.D.O.K., but Cottonmouth and Death Adder were able to complete the mission in assassinating him, while the other members fought against Captain America.

Asp had been one of the members who stole M.O.D.O.K.’s corpse and delivered it to A.I.M. as proof of their success.

When Viper (Madame Hydra) infiltrated Serpent Society and tried to take it over – Asp stood by Sidewinder’s side, but was poisoned and dying – however, Diamondback was able to get Captain America’s help, and those who stood against Viper and had been poisoned, were saved after Captain America helped defeat Viper.

When Serpent Society discovered that Diamondback had been dating Captain America, King Cobra called for a vote to find and kill Diamondback – however, Asp, and several others voted against it. Asp had been the one who contacted Sidewinder to repay Diamondback by saving her as she’d saved him against Viper. During the rescue mission, Asp and Black Mamba fought against their former teammates, but were captured, along with Paladin and Diamondback. With the help of Captain America, all four of them were freed and the other members of Serpent Society were defeated.

Asp briefly fought against Alpha Flight, while fleeing from the first Superhuman Registration Act. She would later join Diamondback and Black Mamba, and form B.A.D. Girls, Inc. That, however, was short lived. During the Superhuman Civil War, Asp was recruited into being a member of Captain America’s Secret Avengers, who opposed the government’s Superhuman Registration Act. She was among other members of the Secret Avengers, who clashed against those who were pro-registration.

She would later, rejoin the Serpent Society, now rebranded as Serpent Solution, being led by a new Viper, who adopted the new moniker of Pit Viper. They fell under the sway of Mephisto and had hoped to gain his favor and power through him, by completing an ancient ritual. However, it’s unclear if Mephisto never cared, or used them for his own amusement, but he never surfaced, and Serpent Solutions was defeated by the newly formed AVENGE.R.S.

Powers: Cleopatra Nefertiti is a mutant born with the ability to generate energy blasts that she calls ‘venom bolts’ of an unknown nature that are expelled from her hands. She’s able to control the ‘potency’ of her venom blasts to either stun or kill. Her skin also secretes this venom through her pores, so long physical contact with Cleopatra Nefertiti will prove lethal.
