Aracely, as she was calling herself at the time, was saved by Kaine, from an organization that specialized in human trafficking. She was left at the hospital, but soon found that she was being hunted down by a villain who called himself The Salamander. The Salamander had managed to recapture Aracely, and placed her in a container filled with other victims of his human trafficking operation. When Scarlet Spider learned of her abduction, he returned and confronted The Salamander and defeated him. Aracely was saved, but she was the sole survivor within the container that house dead bodies of immigrants.

Scarlet Spider then took aracely to the Four Seasons Hotel, which he was using as a base of operations during his time in Houston, Texas, hoping that he could keep her safe. Later, Scarlet Spider is hired by an assassins guild to take down and kill Wolverine. Aracely demands that she goes along with him, donning on her own costume and calling herself “Hummingbird.” Together, they manage to infiltrate the Jean Grey School for Gifted Mutants, and take down an assortment of mutants who opposed them.

She was later found by her captors, Carlos Lobo and his sister. During this time, Scarlet Spider learned that Aracely was supposed the host of a Aztec God of War, by the name of Huitzilopochtli.

In Mexico, still with Kaine Parker, they encounter Water Snake, and after a brief scuffle with Kaine Parker, Water Snake explains that she was looking for someone in Lemuria, when the city was suddenly attacked by Deviant forces. During the battle however, a new enemy appeared and began slaughtering without discretion.

The enemies that slaughtered both Atlantean and Deviant were none other than the Evolutionaries, who appeared just after she explained her story. Scarlet Spider, Hummingbird and Water Snake are defeated and captured by the Evolutionaries and brought before High Evolutionary who places them in prison spheres, in the same room as Nova. Water Snake tries desperately to break the sphere, while Hummingbird tells everyone to remain calm. Nova (Sam Alexander) repeatedly confuses Scarlet Spider for Spider-Man until Scarlet Spider uses his ability to summon spiders to short circuit the spheres. They free Nova and try to make their escape, but find themselves under attack. Scarlet Spider demands that Nova escape and that the others will buy him time; and just as it seems like Nova leaves to get help – he returns to try and turn the tide of battle, only to be taken down just like the others.

Hummingbird and the rest of the New Warriors eventually defeated the Evolutionaries and went on to find Namorita, and restore her.

Hummingbird is later seen, among the wounded at Mount Wundagore, home of the New Warriors, in Eastern Europe, when a villain by the name Daemos, who is hunting down Spider-Men (Spider-People) across the multiverse and locates Kaine. Kaine is teleported away by the arrival of other Spider-People from the “Spider-Verse” leaving his companions behind.

Hummingbird, as well as the others, were shown to be recovering in a hospital, by a being known as the Master Weaver.

Hummingbird is among many, who is channeled by a mutant known as “X” and Psylocke, in an effort to defeat the Shadow King, Farouk.

Hummingbird would later help, during the War of the Realms, answering Ms. Marvel’s call for action on a super hero forum. She helps locate innocents that had been trapped – and is quite fascinated when she meets Viv Vision.

Hummingbird is later seen – among many of whom – come to Doctor Strange’s aid to battle Galactus. She is among others such as: Magik, Scarlet Witch, Shaman, Talisman, Gargoyle, Gladiator, Songbird, Valkyrie, Astra, Hulk, Silver Surfer, and many others. It is a battle that requires the sacrifice of all that is present – so that Doctor Strange can defeat Galactus – and recreate the world.

Hummingbird is later seen, once again, with the Champions, celebrating with “Kamala’s Law” – which banned under 21 heroes from using their abilities – was officially repealed.
