History: Little is known about the man who became The Basher. It was revealed that he was a Police Cadet, who discovered he could not cut it as a police officer and quit. He took up a job at a local diner where police frequently visited. His hatred of his former officers intensified and finally escalated as he adopted the name The Basher and developed hardened balls that he practiced with daily to exact his revenge. When he was finally ready, he prowled the night targeting officers with these balls, and even sent one of them to the hospital. As he stalked two other officers, he missed and ran away. When the officers gave foot chase, they ended up finding Robbie Baldwin, who took interest in the story and decided to do some of his own investigating. Knowing he was targeting police officers, it was easy for the Masked Marvel (who later became Speedball) to find his next targets. The Masked Marvel engaged with The Basher, who made good of his escape – but ran into other officers, who captured him and unmasked him.

After serving jail time, when he was let go, he took up a job as a bartender at The Bar With No Name. He would eventually be arrested again (for unknown reasons) and liberated, like all of the Masked Marvel’s villains, and join the Speedball Revenge Squad.
