Go back to Power Pack (v1) listing!
The story notes that years have gone by; Julie has now gone to college; Jack is in high school; Alex had disappeared with Reed Richard’s Future Foundation after the reformation of the Multiverse; and Katie is left trying to make it through life without the tight-knit family she had always grown up with.
The issue opens up with Katie in her English college class when the teacher asks to speak with Katie after the bell rings. She questions Katie’s writing, and Katie seems disinterested. The teacher goes on to explain that it’s an odd piece she’s written; and goes on to recite some of this supposed fictional story (which is actually a story that recounts the events of Power Pack #42, during the Inferno cross over where they fought the demonized Bogey Man).
Katie then expresses how the story could have gone deeper; and tells a story that centers on Alex being possessed by the Bogey Man, and that they – as Power Pack – had to fight Alex, and Alex was not holding back because he was not in control of his own actions thanks to Mr. Carmody – who was the real Bogey Man. And when it came down to it, Alex held a giant stone over his head – ready to crush her and she said that Carmody could never get her to hurt her brother and her brother would never hurt her.
When the teacher asks what happened next, Katie smiled and said, “Well, I am still here, aren’t I?”
