Return to Power Pack (v2) issue listing!
The issue begins with Power Pack donning their costumes, fighting along side of the Kymellian Kofi and the Snark Sobak opposing Emperor Jakal’s Snarks. Sobak shoots one disintegrating him. Alex shouts at Sobak about killing another; and Sobak retorts that this is war, whether they like it or not.
One of the evil Snarks attempts to lunge a sword through Jack, but he – unconsciously – encases it in what appears to be ice – or a diamond glass like container. Katie blasts another Snark on a hover craft, and it crashes into and explodes upon landing in their mother’s studio.
Speaking of their mother, James drops her off at the hospital and breaks down and weeps as the doctors and nurses take her away to run tests on her.
Back to Power Pack, Kofi explains that his father anticipated that Jakal might one day seize control of the mind again, and do something vile and had plans what to do if that should happen – and that included securing the Power Pack children. Jack refuses to leave Earth because his mother is dying; but the rest agree that for now, it’s the best idea. Katie runs in the house and gets the computer with the Smartship Friday’s AI embedded within it. Kofi explains that Sobak is one of the few tribes that remained close to the Kymellians and also suspected that Jakal might one day regain control of the body and mind and use his position as Emperor to further his mad needs. Jack shouts that the Snarks can just kill themselves; but a hologram of Lord Byrel explains that it will not just be the Snarks killing each other; Emperor Jakal will wage war on everyone. He also explains that Yrik, Kofi’s father who was visiting the Emperor, has gone missing – just before it was discovered that Jakal was in control.
Speaking of Yrik, the guards outside his cell are shot, and Queen Destrak, who Emperor Jakal had tried to kill, rescues Yrik.
Back in Space, the Smartship Friday’s AI is merged into a new Smartship. On board the other ship, Jack approaches Julie to ask about why she had been crying when she ran in the house; and she tells Jack to mind her own business. Sobak, observing this, tells Kofi that he doesn’t have much hope that they’ll be any good, since all they do is bicker.
Back on Earth, the doctor tells James that Margaret’s blood cell count is off the charts; but that there’s more tests to be run.
Power Pack, Kofi and Sobak are teleported to Snark World, where they see a massive destroyer baring down on another of the Snark colonies.
