(Note: This issue is a part of the Acts of Vengeance crossover)
The issue opens up with the villain, Typhoid Mary, speaking to a seated man, who remains in the shadows. She explains that she used her placid Mary personality to get close to the Power Pack kids so that she could destroy them.
The story then goes into Typhoid Mary telling just how she did it; and it shows Tandy Bowen (better known as Dagger) speaking about how she’s recently become blind. A ball nearly strikes her in the head and she catches it, and a woman named Mary explains that she’s sorry about her throw having almost hit her.
Typhoid Mary goes on to explain from there, it was easy to make friends with them and get invited to Tandy Bowen’s home; where she moves freely around the house, despite being blind, due to her training that she’s gotten to adjust to her blindness; however, Mary purposely trips her and is spotted by Julie; but Alex simply states that Julie is jealous because Mary is so beautiful. Mary turns up time and time again after school to walk and talk with Alex. During one of their talks, she talks about why she works with blind children; because her own father was blind, and as such did not believe in electricity; so there was no television, no radio, no lights. She stayed home to always take care of her blind father, who scarcely moved from his chair for years on end.
At home, Mary’s thankful to have Alex to open up to; but soon, the Typhoid personality takes over and threatens to kill her. The Typhoid side seizes control and it cuts back to Typhoid Mary speaking to the shadowed man, which reveals a metallic arm similar to Doctor Doom (enemy of the Fantastic Four). The scene cuts back to Typhoid Mary telling how she destroyed Power Pack and reveals, as Mary (under Typhoid’s control) went to the Power’s home to read over Alex’s report, but then spends her time speaking with James Power and the work he’s doing, leaving Alex (who is clearly attracted to her), left out as the adults conversed. When James walks Mary to the taxi downstairs, she surprises him by kissing him, while Alex looked on.
It cuts back to Typhoid Mary on the couch and it confirms that she’s indeed speaking to Doctor Doom about this.
She continues the story of slipping a note under the door for Alex to find asking for his help down in the basement. Typhoid Mary reveals herself and shows she’s set up a trap for James Power. The rest of Power Pack arrive in the basement and help in the fight against Typhoid Mary. The kids successfully save their father, but Typhoid Mary escapes.
Doctor Doom shouts at Typhoid Mary that she did not succeed in her venture to destroy Power Pack. Doom yells that she was not to harm their father; and Typhoid Mary gets some background about Doctor Doom and his relationship with his father, and Typhoid Mary laughs that all along, her whole ploy from the start of this, was to find that weakness in Doctor Doom, which she has now just discovered to be his relationship with his own father.
