History: Born with super human speed, Black Racer was employed by Viper (Madame Hydra), along with Copperhead, Puff Adder and Fer-de-Lance to infiltrate Serpent Society, which she had planned to take over. Robbing a number of Las Vegas casinos together, Sidewinder took notice and invited them into Serpent Society, just as Viper had anticipated.

When Viper made her move to take over, and managed to successfully poison Sidewinder, who barely managed to escape with Diamondback’s help, Black Racer remained on the team under Viper’s leadership. She was ordered to find the wounded Sidewinder, and had managed to do so – but Black Racer encountered a heroine by the name of Vagabond, who had been assigned to protect him while in the ambulance, and successfully fended off Black Racer’s attempts to abduct Sidewinder.

When Viper was defeated, and Sidewinder declined to return to the Serpent Society, feeling betrayed, Cobra took over the mantle of leadership and adopted the moniker of King Cobra. He offered those who even sided with Viper membership in Serpent Society, which Black Racer accepted.

Black Racer was one of the members of Serpent Society who had gone after Diamondback, believing she’d betrayed them and given information to Captain America, whom she’d been dating.

Black Racer, along with, Anaconda, Asp, Black Mamba, Princess Python and Fer-de-Lance crashed Thing’s bachelor party and battled with several of the heroes in attendance, before being defeated.

She would appear again, under the new Viper (who had now adopted the moniker of Pit Viper) and his new version of Serpent Society, which he rebranded as Serpent Solutions. Under the sway of Mephisto, they sought to recreate a ritual that would bring him forth and promise them great power – however, as the AVENGE.R.S., which was newly formed, descended on Serpent Solutions to put a stop to them – even though they’d successfully completed the ritual – Mephisto never showed and Serpent Solutions were defeated and brought to justice.

Powers: Black Racer can run at high speeds, but the terminal velocity that she can reach is not known.

Note: Similar to Puff Adder, there has been some confusion as to what her ethnicity is as sometimes she is depicted as Caucasian, others as African-American. Meanwhile, her full name suggests a Middle Eastern descent.
