History: Harris Moore became one of the first super heroes, technically pre-dating the arrival of the Fantastic Four when one fateful night, he was driving through the desert when his car stalled. It was then he’d encountered a comet like gas entity that chased him down and bathed him in red radiation that altered his body and gave him super human powers. He used his powers to fight crime; however, eventually – one of the crime lords discovered his identity and sent an assassin to kill him. The assassin instead decided to kill him and his family, blowing up Harris Moore’s home. Harris barely survived, but his wife and daughter were killed in the blast; and he also believed his son had perished as well. (He’d actually survived, being thrown out of the home by the sheer force of the explosion).
Harris was hospitalized and devastated about the loss of his family. When he recovered, he destroyed all evidence of his life, and that of his family, and gave up being a super hero, and simply became a drunkard; unaware that his son had survived and was now following in his father’s footsteps to become the hero, The Crimebuster.
Harris was eventually found being sick; and taken to the hospital – where, despite his arguments – he was X-RAY’ed to see what was wrong – which awakened his Comet powers yet again. Michael Burley, who’d found him – told him about the trouble that Nova had been in; and The Comet agreed to go help Nova; and together Nova and The Comet decided to go after Diamondhead. However, Diamondhead was easily able to defeat both heroes and fled once more.
This caught the attention of Crimebuster when he saw The Comet and believed it’d been someone who’d taken up his father’s mantle and decided to attack him (to test his abilities) – but after the fight, Crimebuster revealed his true identity and The Comet realized that Crimebuster was his son! Crimebuster and The Comet joined Nova in the battle against Powerhouse and Diamondhead – and all four of them were suddenly transported to the planet Xandar.
Xandar had been under attack by the shape shifting Skrulls; so Adora called on the Fantastic Four to also help in the fight against the Skrulls. The Sphinx, who’d been the one that abducted Nova and the others – gained immense power during all of this – and the team was forced to focus on him as the larger threat. Both the Sphinx and the Skrulls were eventually defeated, and the heroes earned the title of Champions of Xandar. But that would not last long when one of their own – Diamondhead – betrayed them to the Skrulls. Crimebuster had learned of the betrayal but was murdered by a Skrull before he could warn the others. Nova had just allied himself with the Space Knight, ROM – who helped defeat the Skrulls yet again.
The Comet remained on Xandar, in honor of his son, who died protecting it; while Nova returned back to Earth. Tragically, Nebula would eventually arrive and destroy almost all of Xandar – The Comet was confirmed as one of the casualties.

Powers: The exposure to the comet-gas radiation gave Harris a number of powers. He had super strength of unknown levels – but was seen ripping apart nets that had been considered “unbreakable.” He could also project electrical blasts of great power, which he had great control over. He also had “Electro-Search” where he would get in tune with a specific wavelength and be able to track things (or people) who emitted the wavelength he was in tune to. He was able to fly, as well as survive the vacuum of space. He could also emit what was called a “protective halo” – which surrounded his body with energy that would stun opponents who touched him or got too close.
