History: Fred Caskey is a cat-burglar for hire, and took up a job in Springdale when Nathan Boder hired him to recover a strongbox that was in the Springdale High School, after the skeletal remains of someone by the name of Alex Bow turned up hidden inside the school walls. Fred attempted to get the strongbox the first time, but ran into the Masked Marvel (better known as Speedball). The two tangled, and the local cleaning staff heard all the bumping noises and began to spread rumors that the school was haunted. (A rumor that spread quickly, especially since the remains of Alex Bow were found inside the school walls). Fred tried a second time, and once again, encountered the Masked Marvel. However, this time during the fight, the Masked Marvel damaged Fred’s costume, which caused him to become entangled in his own ropes, allowing local authorities time to arrive and arrest him. Fred immediately gave up the strongbox with the evidence, to ensure he would not be accused of being Alex Bow’s murderer.
