HistoryThe criminal known as the Crooked Face had gone around Springdale robbing numerous jewelry stores as well as homes for months and no one was aware who he was – until a potential victim had put up a fight and unmasked the Crooked Face, revealing it to be Thomas MaGee.

Robbie Baldwin’s father, Justin Baldwin, an assistant district attorney was the one put on the case to prosecute Thomas MaGee for his crime spree – and it seemed as though it would be an open and shut case – after all, he had been caught at the scene and unmasked. While the one who had unmasked Thomas MaGee swore on the oath in court that the defendant, Thomas MaGee was indeed the man he’d unmasked – the defense had put several witnesses on the stand that swore that Thomas MaGee had been with them at a local bar, during the time of the robbery. Unfortunately, this led to Thomas MaGee being found not guilty, as it could not be completely proven beyond a reasonable doubt with so many witnesses placing Thomas MaGee at the local bar.

The local authorities, and even the citizens grew upset at Justin Baldwin for wasting their “hard earned tax money” on the case that Justin was so confident was an open and closed case. Thomas MaGee was later seen with several of those witnesses who vouched for him, back at the same bar – with several of the patrons upset that Justin had claimed that they were committing perjury. Thomas MaGee laughs and explains that Justin is the one that looks bad and that he was glad that he wasn’t at the bar alone, drinking, when the crime was committed. A moment later, a patron comes in explaining that the Crooked Face has struck again – this time robbing Austin’s Jewelry store. Thomas MaGee laughs and explains it certainly can’t be him but he will undoubtedly still somehow be accused of the crime.

When the news interviews Robbie Baldwin’s mother, Madeline Naylor-Baldwin, she bravely speaks out that the Crooked Face criminal will be caught and that her husband Justin will be there to ensure that he is tried and sent to jail for his crime spree. The Crooked Face criminal sees this on the news and swears to get revenge – donning his mask and drawing his gun he heads for Madeline’s work. It’s good fortune that Robbie Baldwin, better known as Speedball, happens to be heading for his mother’s work when he spots the Crooked Face criminal skulking through the brush. Robbie changes into Speedball and attacks the Crooked Face criminal. However, unable to control his powers, Speedball goes over Crooked Face, giving him the time he needs to escape.

While Crooked Face makes his way to the Baldwin home to rob Justin Baldwin, several officers stop Justin to explain they’re not like everyone else – and they’re keeping an eye on Thomas MaGee because they suspect something. However, Justin explains that Thomas was found innocent and he doesn’t want him harassed.

Speedball suspects that since Crooked Face came after his mother, that he might be going after his father – or the very least – to their house – and he’s right – he manages to attack and knock down the Crooked Face, just as Speedball’s father enters the home – Speedball quickly escapes before being seen. Justin is able to restrain the Crooked Face until local authorities arrive. The local authorities then head to the bar that Thomas MaGee hangs out at – and bring the Crooked Face criminal before him – and Thomas looks worried. Justin tells Robbie to “unmask” the Crooked Face – and it’s revealed that it’s Thomas’ brother, Eddie who bares an uncanny resemblance to Thomas. Eddie swears he won’t go down for the crime alone – and explains that he was indeed the Crooked Face criminal – but the entire plot had always been his brother’s, Thomas MaGee. Eddie swears to tell the local authorities all they need to know about Thomas and how he planned it all.

Height: 5’6″ (Eddie and Thomas MaGee)
Weight: 185 lbs. and 192 lbs. (Eddie and Thomas MaGee)
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown

Powers: Crooked Face has no powers but often used a standard hand-gun for his crimes.

Note: The height and weight are estimates based on other Marvel Universe characters. Why did Thomas have a little more weight on him than Eddie in my estimates? Well, with Eddie doing all the running around, he was more physical, while Thomas spent a lot of time at the bar drinking.
