History: “Peter” emerged from one of Jackyl’s cloning pods, believing that he was truly Peter Parker and had gone out of his way to try and prove as much. However, as soon as he got the (real) Peter Parker, along with Ben Reilly, and Kaine – that’s when the Jackyl’s programming to try and kill the trio had kicked in.

Jackyl had created this “Peter” in hopes of killing the others, including Mary Jane. Jackyl gave him instructions to steal ribonucleic nanocontagen – which would be used to kill mass amounts of people – from a research firm known as Genetech, which was the home of Psionex – a team the New Warriors had often clashed with. So when news broke that something had been stolen from Genetech, the New Warriors got involved and soon encountered Spidercide. Spidercide was able to escape and with this compound, they killed 2,600 people in Springville, Pennsylvania – leaving a sole survivor – Rafael Carago – who, once exposed to the chemicals triggered powers in him, as he became better known as Helix.

Spidercide would suffer two “deaths” – once when Kaine threw a propane truck on him, killing him. However, an individual named Scrier would resurrect him. Spidercide would perish that second time when he fell off the Daily Bugle after it was revealed that Jackyl had deceived him, and although dead on impact – he was placed in a stasis chamber.

Powers: Though a clone of the real Peter Parker, this gave Spidercide the same powers Peter Parker had as the original Spider-Man. This included enhanced strength, agility, “Spider Sense”, wall crawling, and much more. However, Jackyl had altered Spidercide’s DNA that allowed him to have complete control over the molecular structure of his body, so that he could extend his limbs, similar to Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four. This made him extremely resilient to all forms of physical injury.

Note – Spidercide, unlike the other clones, did not suffer from the clone degeneration that the others had endured.
