Aireo was one of the Inhumans would who turn on Black Bolt, the leader of the humans, and be a part of a rebellion that would attempt to coup Black Bolt from his position. As a result, Aireo, and several other Inhumans (all of whom attempted to over throw Black Bolt) were banished into another realm. However, Maximus the Mad, brother to Black Bolt rescued them and formed an army to attempt to take over Attilan.
The attempt would fail, which would eventually lead to Maximus capturing the Fantastic Four and the Inhuman Royal Family. Maximus selected Aireo as his loyal guard to serve him; but the prisoners manage to escape forcing Maximus and his followers to escape in a rocket.
Maximus leads his army, including Aireo to a small island on Costa Salvador that he manages to take over using a hypnotic robot. Everything seems fine until the arrival of the Hulk, who Maximus manages to manipulate into attacking an approaching army that was there to stop Maximus. However, the others in Maximus’ army are unsure about the Hulk, and when the Black Bolt and the Inhumans, matters escalate, forcing Maximus and his army to flee.
Aireo later gave up on Maximus and eventually adopted the name Skybreaker and became a member of Project: Earth’s “Force of Nature” team, where he came in contact with the New Warriors. During the first battle against the New Warriors, the members of Force of Nature and Project: Earth were terrorizing Brazilian forest developers in order to protect the environment. Skybreaker and the rest of Force of Nature would come in conflict with the New Warriors yet again in the war torn country of Trans-Sabal.
Skybreaker and his teammates, Aqueduct and Terraformer, eventually are incarcerated in the super-powered prison ‘The Vault.’ During a number of riots, ironically it is Vance Astrovik (Marvel Boy, of the New Warriors) who was in prison for the manslaughter (accidental death of his father), who calmed the riots down, by having the Warden agree to work with the prisoners on getting better treatment within the prison.
