History:  Frank Moore’s father, Harris was the superhero known as Comet, during a time that predated when the Fantastic Four had become world renowned heroes. Though Harris kept his identity as the Comet a secret, his son, Frank knew; and eventually a criminal organization that Harris had stopped before learned his secret too – and an assassin was sent to kill him for it. The unknown assassin decided to not only kill Harris, but all of Harris’ family as well, exploding his home, killing Harris’ wife and daughter. Frank had been flung out of the home, but survived. But when Frank searched for the bodies, he couldn’t find Frank and assumed he’d perished in the explosion as well. Harris gave up the identity as the Comet and became a drunkard. Frank had survived and when he regained consciousness he believed his family dead and grew up wanting to be like his father, the Comet – fighting crime. He eventually trained and became an expert at a number of things and adopted the name, The Crimebuster. Using the fortune from his family, as Crimebuster, he’d made a flying lap as well as a hypnotic beam.

His first big fight would lead him clashing with Sandman and several hoodlums all at once. The fight draws the attention of Nova who joins in the fight and takes on Sandman. When the fight is over, Nova comments how well Crimebuster did and the two part ways. However, it would not be long before the two would meet again when Crimebuster was after Boss Krimmons, a criminal leader. They took down the criminal organization successfully.

Frank’s father would surface again as the Comet, which garnered Crimebuster’s attention who attacked Comet to test him and ensure it was truly his father. When he revealed himself to Comet after the attack, Comet was surprised to see it was his son who’d been missing – and who he assumed to be dead.

Comet, Crimebuster, Nova and Diamondhead would all eventually get abducted by Sphinx who teleported them into a Xandarian starship. Nova learned that though Xandar had been destroyed – survivors had rebuilt Xandar’s civilization on four large rocks, all connected by bridges. Diamondhead who had demanded to go back to Earth and attempted to take an opportunity to turn the starship around clashed with Crimebuster and nearly beat him to death, saved by the Sphinx. The Nova Corps who were weakened from Xandar’s decimation attack by Nebula previously turned to the Fantastic Four for help and arrived to help against the Skrulls and Sphinx. Coment, Crimebuster, and the others joined in the fight – earning the respect of the Xandarians who dubbed them the Champions of Xandar.

The Champions were however, betrayed by Diamondhead who sided with the Skrulls. Crimebuster learned of Diamondhead’s treachery but he was killed before he could warn the others.
