History: The son of a high-tech arms dealer, Harley Traynor, the young Fletcher made the mistake of ignoring his father’s warnings that the weapons he dealt with were extremely dangerous. While caring one of the high-tech weapons, one of the canisters fell and shattered at Fletcher’s feet, changing and mutating Fletcher’s genetic make up, so that he became a living version of a highly acidic symbiotic being.

Seeking to draw the attention of the New Warriors, whom he feels are responsible for his father’s death, since they were the ones that arrested him; Biohazard begins to wreak havoc in New York City. The New Warriors arrive and a brief fight breaks out, but he soon learns that the New Warriors had no idea that his father had been murdered in jail. The fight seems to subside until Generation X arrives, along with Emma Frost and Sean Cassidy – better known as Banshee. Before anyone can talk things out, a fight breaks out between the New Warriors and Generation X.  Biohazard begins to lose control of his powers, and the New Warriors and Generation X teams are forced to put aside their differences and work together to defeat Biohazard. Realizing that his father was murdered in jail, and the New Warriors feel uncomfortable handing him over to Emma, who once tried to make Firestart an assassin, Namorita suggests taking him to Project: PEGASUS where they deal with this kind of thing on a daily basis.

He would later be freed from Project: PEGASUS by the villains known as Boomerang, Tiger Shark, and Whirlwind, led by Mr. Hyde – who had hoped to use him as a nuclear bomb. The Thunderbolts are called in to put a stop to Biohazard; and while Radioactive Man struggles to absorb his excess radiation, Penance (formerly Speedball) causes Biohazard, to explode; but the end result is, each piece becomes a sentient portion of Biohazard, and it finally takes Songbird, using her sound bubbles to contain Biohazard.

Powers: As the mutate, Biohazard, Fletcher was able to absorb mass into his own body to change the size of his own mass, creating a large, acidic body. The body was able to withstand a direct punch from Nova, as well as have his innards blown apart by Turbo, and not be impacted. His body can also conduct high voltages of electricity without slowing him down. However, Namorita’s own acidic touch, did cause him pain.
