On this day, 1992 – Turbo makes her debut.

Turbo debuted today in 1992. Once again, Corey from New Warriors Continuity Conundrum and his incredible calendar to know all these days is to thank! Turbo debuted in New Warriors (V1) #28 and would go on to join the New Warriors shortly after and appeared quite a bit outside of New Warriors as well. While she appeared while Fabian was writing New Warriors, she was actually created (in part) by Evan, who would go on to take over New Warriors after Fabian departed the book! Definitely take some time and check out Corey’s page that has a page that focuses on Turbo!

Bandit first appeared on this day in 1993!

The troublesome character who first appeared as “Bandit” proved to be a thorn in Dwayne Taylor better known as the original Night Thrasher. It was unclear at first, what Bandit’s issue with Night Thrasher was – as Bandit learned that Dwayne had dated Silhouette Chord and Bandit immediately attempted to seduce Dwayne’s estranged girlfriend. Whatever his issue was with Dwayne, it was clearly a very personal issue.

While Bandit would go on to provoke Dwayne Taylor (even as Night Thrasher) for quite some time – once Dwayne learned the truth about who Bandit was and why he had such a strong dislike for Dwayne – the two were able to become more amicable towards one another. Bandit would even go on to “join” the New Warriors for a brief time to help them out; and when Dwayne was believed to be killed in the Stamford explosion, Bandit even took up the guise as the second Night Thrasher.

As always, a special thanks to Corey over at New Warriors Continuity Conundrum, for remembering all these dates. Definitely check out his site. You can check out the Bandit/Night Thrasher II profile there as well.

Bolt debuted in 1995 today!

Once again, Corey of New Warriors Continuity Conundrum, with his incredible spread-sheet-calendar thing reminded us that today, the character Bolt, debuted in X-Men Unlimited (Volume One) #8 by Howard Mackie, Dan Lawlis, Tom Grummett, Adam Pollina, Ian Akin, Matt Webb & Comicraft’s Richard Starkings.

When Chris’ powers developed and manifested one day at school; that would already make things difficult enough in a world that despised and feared mutants; but Chris’ life would continue to take tragic turns as he discovered he was also infected with the Legacy Virus, a terminal virus that effected mutants and always proved to be fatal – at the conclusion, manifesting the mutant’s abilities to their maximum, and burning out their bodies.

Chris could have sat and waited for it to come; but instead he wanted to do something with his life and would join the New Warriors (during Volume Two).

Fortunately, with the sacrifice of Colossus from the X-Men, the Legacy Virus was cured before it claimed Christopher’s life. However, an old friend of his by the name of Maverick, who had previously taken him under his wing – had gone missing and presumed dead – so Bolt took on Maverick’s name to track down who had killed his friend. In a strange twist of fate, as Maverick, Christopher encountered “Agent Zero” – and was fatally wounded. As it would turn out, Agent Zero was the original Marverick. Chris died in Maverick’s arms explaining he’d taken on his mantle to make him proud.

Chris resurfaced once, during an event where he’d been infected by the Transmode Virus. While it’s not been confirmed, it’s assume that Chris may have been resurrected during the time of Krakoa. Read all about Bolt here on the site and check out Bolt’s profile on New Warriors Continuity Conundrum!

Sun Girl Debut 10 Years Ago!

Thanks again to Corey over at New Warriors Continuity Conundrum, who has all of these dates marked in some incredible calendar and posted about this in the New Warriors Group on Facebook.

Ten years ago, Sun Girl, debuted in the pages of Superior Spider-Man Team Up #1 which was written by the amazing team of Christopher Yost, David Lopez, Andy Owens, Rachelle Rosenberg & Joe Caramagna!

She would go on to join the New Warriors in Volume 5. She’d had a couple of appearances in Superior Spider-Man Team Up prior to joining the New Warriors, and she appeared a few times after volume five of New Warriors came to a (premature!) end, as seen on Sun Girl’s profile on the New Warriors Continuity Conundrum!

Justice Figure revealed at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC)

And Dano_Cosmic on twitter let us know that Russ Akin (Twitter) got a shot of the figure at the Hasbro booth – and it looks amazing.

Which means the only one we’re missing, is the one I’ve been anticipating the most…

Namorita.

Chagrin – 30 Years ago today!

Thank you always, to Corey, from New Warriors Continuity Conundrum, and knowing when all these characters appeared! So, in Night Thrasher (V2) #2, the character, Chagrin first appeared, imitating Silhouette (as hired by Midnight’s Fire to do). Night Thrasher and Silhouette eventually track her down and defeat her and learn that Midnight’s Fire is behind it all.

I wish Chagrin would have appeared more after this. I am a sucker for untouched/undeveloped characters, and just wanting to know their backstory or create one of my own. She seems like someone who could have kept popping up in the Night Thrasher series, or even the New Warriors series, from time to time.

In the meantime, you can read the recap of the issue or check out Chagrin’s profile, all linked in that first paragraph.

Aegis makes his debut in New Warriors (v2) #0 in 1999 today!

I happen to be a pretty big fan of the short lived (literally) character of Aegis. I thought it was great that in his debut it was just street clothes that made up his costume, plus the breastplate he was destined to find; rather than just appearing with some cool super hero costume right from the start.

You can read a recap of each issue of volume 2, in which Aegis appeared, here on the site.

You can catch all of Aegis’ appearances on Corey’s New Warriors Continuity Conundrum page for Aegis.
